Danny Conlon has worked in the transport industry for more than 20 years - including several years with the Transport Workers Union.

Starting at Veolia in 1998, Danny has held senior roles in Municipal Collections and Resource Recovery, and has experience in the operations and technologies of Veolia in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. Additionally Danny has undertaken executive leadership and strategy programs at leading business schools throughout the United States.

As Executive General Manager Eastern Australia, Danny sets strategic direction and growth plans, manages professional development of key personnel, and represents Veolia at a government, industry and stakeholder level.

In addition, Danny is on the Board for the IWS Landfill JV in Adelaide, the EarthPower JV in Sydney, TiTree Landfill in Brisbane, and is Chairman of the Veolia Mulwaree Trust Fund.

John Glyde was appointed Managing Director of Australia & New Zealand Metals for Sims Metals Management in August 2017. John has been with Sims Metal Management for over 30 years, holding progressively senior leadership roles across the business in both Australia and the US.

Prior to his taking his current role John was Chief Operating Officer for Australia & New Zealand Metals from 2015 to 2017, and previous to that position was the General Manager, Queensland Metals. John joined the National Waste Recycling Industry Council as a Board Member in 2018.

Vik Bansal is CEO of Cleanaway, Australia’s largest waste management company. With over 20 years’ experience in a range of executive roles in Australia, Asia and the United States, Mr Bansal has a proven track record of leading industrial organisations through significant growth, transition and improvement.

He has previously held senior leadership positions with One Steel and Eaton Corporation.

Cleanaway helps its customers via a network of over 200 locations across Australia. The company’s philosophy is to put sustainability at the core of all its activities.

Mark Venhoek is CEO of SUEZ in Australia and New Zealand. He has significant global experience across the SUEZ group since joining the company in 1992, spanning the European, Asian and Australian markets.

In 2004, Mr Venhoek became CEO of SITA Germany, before being appointed COO to the Group’s Northern Europe division overseeing operational service activities across Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg. Mark is a member of the SUEZ Global Executive Management Committee.

Across its Australian and New Zealand operations, SUEZ has more than 2,600 employees and contractors and diverts more than 880,000 tonnes of material from landfill every year.
